The ‘right to bear arms’.
‘A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed’.
As of December 17th 2024, there were more than 488 mass shootings in the United States.

Look at the wording of the amendment.
‘A well regulated militia’.
This ‘militia‘ in the United States is far from ‘well regulated‘.
Many people in the US, can just walk into a corner store, fill out some short and sweet paperwork, and soon after, be on their way with their very first weapon of mass destruction.
Not a very thorough background check, not much of a police check, and no psych eval, just ‘here you go sir, here’s your gun’.
I said ‘sir’, on purpose.
Because statistics show that the majority of mass shooters are male.
Lets just be clear here.
Guns were *made* to kill people and things.
They were not made as a fancy decoration that sits on your side table in the middle of dinner in place of a fruit basket.
They were made – to kill.
And because guns were made to kill, and the United States has it written in their constitution about the ‘right to bear arms’, they have more mass shootings every year, than many, countries even combined.
Supposedly, this was written into the constitution in case ‘the people’ ever needed to rise up and take back the government from tyrants and dictators.
So I ask you.
With everything going on with the United States government right now, where are ‘these people’?
School will frequently run lock down drills to try and teach young students what to do in case a school shooter arrives to shoot the place up.
Some school have specialized door locking mechanisms to keep the door locked in the event of a school shooter.
And there are companies that even sell bulletproof backpacks for kids to take to school.
People will frequent going to buy groceries with a gun attached to their hip.
They say it is ‘in case anything happens‘.
Walking around with a gun attached to your hip all the time, constantly thinking that something could happen – could also be defined as paranoia.
So why doesn’t the US enact more strict gun legislation to protect people, students, and children?
I am glad you asked.
You have absolutely free reign to search the United States Congress website to look up tabled bills, bills passed, and bills rejected.
United States Democrats have been trying to fight for stricter gun laws for years, but for some reason, United States Republicans keep shooting them down like ducks in the ever popular 80’s video game – ‘Duck Hunt’.
So why would Republicans not want to keep people safe?
Another great question. Thanks for asking.
The answer is: follow the money.
The National Rifle Association, or ‘NRA‘ if you will, and other gun rights advocates are constantly and consistently funding certain Republicans to block bills being tabled in congress to fight against gun safety.
This is because the more guns that are sold, the more money they make.
For example.
As of 2024, Texas Senator Ted Cruiz had made $1,351,212 from different gun advocacy groups to vote and block bills related to gun legislation.
Check this list. It gets worse.
You want to hear something really funny though?
These same Republicans will tell you in the same breath they are ‘Pro-Life‘.
But in reality, they are pro-life before birth when it comes to their anti-abortion stance, but then after a baby is born, they don’t care anymore.
When Democrats table bills and potential legislation to try and tighten up background checks on people that want to buy weapons for example, Republicans will turn around in the media, and try and convince everyone that Democrats are trying to take their guns away.
They do this, because they know a lot of their supporters will simply take what they say at face value, instead of actually completing any half decent research into the issue.
Most of the time, because a lot of Republican supporters don’t even know what ‘proper research’ is or even means.
Most of the time they will read a tweet off Twitter posted by a Republican supporter like Elon Musk for example, and then just automatically believe him.
Just like that.
No research.
No fact-checking.
No nothing.
They just believe him.
And whenever another mass shooting happens in the US, all the Republican politicians get together to send their ‘thoughts and prayers.
Like thoughts and prayers will do something.
But yet the world turns.
Hundreds of mass shootings every year and Trump and government are instead worried more about the whole 15 transgendered people in the United States that play gross gender sports.
Jesus take the wheel.
